Divest Whiteness

Racism is the symptom, whiteness is the cause.

Racism is a permanent mechanism in our society. It  requires group efforts to keep it going, but also to eradicate it.

Our Divest Whiteness course aims to create a space for you to process the challenges of living in a white supremacist world, and think strategically about what you need to do in order to divest from it.

I’ve done the anti-racism course. I've read the books... Where is my community of people committed to divesting from whiteness?

When you realise you can no longer be complicit in racist systems, when you need strategies and an active community to work against them, you can come here.

Space to think. Space to learn.

Researchers have found that socialisation in the UK has often involved avoidance of race talk and ‘not noticing’ ourselves as racialised beings. It leaves us ill-equipped to hold our feelings about race and engage strategically in challenging the idea of whiteness.

Divest Whiteness will give you the chance to:

What happens when I talk about whiteness?

I am really benefitting from having this space and guidance from you, and the excellent speakers/coaches you have included in the process.

There has been a clear focus, flow and ethos; I've appreciated the insightful prompts for reflection, and your generosity around sharing your own personal experiences within anti-racism work. It has felt like a genuine 'invitation' to evolve rather than a game of 'cat and mouse'.

You've helped to foster positive bonds between group members and ensured that everyone's voice is valued. All in all, it feels like it has been a very good way to spend my time and I am committed to continue being as respectfully curious as I can about the very necessary tasks that we need to engage in as white people.
